Have a nice day in Jesus,
Pastor John, Congo
1. Pray for my mom at Butembo; my father called to say she is very ill and in
the hospital….
2. Tomorrow I will be in Trauma Healing for two days, organized in Goma by
the Baptist Church of Central Africa. The ‘coach’ is Barbara, a coworker
from Germany.
3. I sent you photos of a Counselors’ Training … at Rutshuru. This seminar
was about Trauma Integration and Counseling…. There are more vulnerable
people who will come.
4. Now we keep 213 vulnerable people in that area. The same is true at
Butembo and Goma. May God open doors to care for them.
PRAYER NEEDS:
* support of Butembo activities;
* camera equipment;
* round-trip transport from Goma to Rutshuru;
* lodging and meals for three days at Rutshuru;
* training materials for Counseling Center;
* soda, bread and transport for participants in training; and
* fees for activities for street kids in Goma.
We spent the money you sent as follows:
EXPENSES
1. At Goma, we organized 4 seminars with street children and jobless people.
The main objective was to bring them to HOPE in God and manage their
stress with the Word of God; and see how to work with their hands; not to
rob; but honest work according to the Bible.
2. Through these seminars 47 street kids and jobless youth made decisions to
change. They decided every weekend to be taught the Word of God.
Our approach is oriented toward reintegration (literacy, small business and
school support); professions (training for a job); and mini-agriculture
projects.
3. At Rutshuru, we organized a session with counselors for Trauma Healing
and Integration into society from 15-16 of October. All day Friday we
planned activities at the Counseling Center in Rutshuru and Kiwanja.
4. Rutshuru was the old headquarters of M23 rebels…. We planted an office
for counseling in this area. Now we care for 213 vulnerable people. Among
them are 112 women victims of violence: raped girls, 101 former child
soldiers and orphans (victims of wars).
5. We wish to do permanent work in this area. We trained 21 Field Officers.
They’ll be in … Rutshuru which has 632,637 people in two large counties -
Bwito and Bwisha. This zone was deeply affected by war.
6. At Butembo we support vulnerable people - young people and women - by a
quality formation based on the Social Business Enterprise projects whose
objective is to reduce poverty and fight against vulnerability.
7. In the future we want to set up a ‘test project’ for young children of war in
Goma, Butembo and Rutshuru with 160 women: street girls, raped girls and
girls who were victims of wars.
8. We trained 35 volunteers caregivers to open clubs in the area from L2R, a
partner. We have 5 counseling points where people receive comfort; look for
solutions to life’s problems; with HOPE in Christ.

Yours in His service, Pastor John
It's my goal to fill hearts and minds with HOPE…. You are praying for us. You support … our ministry. I am committed to … changing lives for the Kingdom of God. Do not forget us in your prayers.
MY VOCATION
Thanks for your plan to send a CONTAINER to Congo next year. We will pray … for this project. Let us know the itinerary … to Congo. Pastor Delphin and I work in Eastern region. It’s best to send it to Goma via Uganda or Rwanda (not to Kinshasa which is far and very expensive)….
CONTAINER PROJECT FOR CONGO
3. We are caring for 213 vulnerable people at Rutshuru Counseling Center
and Street Kids. They … need medical assistance; school fees; training in
trades like tailoring, chicken farming, masonry (brick-making), carpentry,
‘boda-boda’ (bicycle), … and selling in the market place…. AMESA clinic
is asking us to pay for all children. I want to do so but am penniless…. We
continue to pray for God to supply… our needs.
2. According to Congo’s Ministry of Health this week, Ebola is now
eradicated. The goal is to prevent future cases. Now we plan to educate
people about Ebola… by writing tracts and newsletters on prevention. These
will be distributed in … North Kivu, Isiro and elsewhere. We’ll write them
in French and Kiswahili.
1. Thanks for supporting our projects: assisting people with Ebola; Counseling
Center, Street Kids’; and caring for Vulnerable People. We wish to change
lives for God’s Kingdom by meeting their needs.
PROJECTS
3. Pray … for my mother … hospitalized at Matanda Hospital in Butembo.
May God … heal her….
2. In this same area are 3,000 people - men and women - who were raped and
kidnapped by NALU rebels … this year. In November we plan to go there
for Trauma Healing and comfort God’s people….
1. We ask every Christian to pray for the victims’ families at Beni who were
… massacred by NALU (National Army for Liberation of Uganda) rebels.
They also attacked at Beni, Oicha, Mavivi and Kamango. The rebels killed
more than 80 people from 25 families in these areas from October 9-23.
Our volunteers sent a report with photos. We have 152 families of victims
of trauma in this area … who need our help.
PRAYER NEEDS
We are very happy to … receive [your] advice and encouraging words. May God be glorified…. Here is information … about our ministry for HOPELESS people that we minister to….
Did you send me the books on Trauma to my PO Box…? Did you receive … an email … from Joseph of AMESA clinic (another partner) about a holistic cure for Ebola…?"
1. We trained counselors at Rutshuru and … visited refugee families from
Uganda at Kiseguru village, 25 miles from Ishasha, on the Uganda-Congo
border.
2. We assisted in the recovery of street kids that I care for in Goma.
3. We sent one of our L2R caregivers (a Bush Telegraph partner) at Butembo
to train people….
4. We bought furniture for the Counseling Center. I will write more in my
Report and send Receipts….
In … October we ministered in Goma, Rutshuru and Butembo … on Trauma Healing and Outreach.
