“We and partner, L2R, want to help prevent this deadly virus. We just received an Ebola remedy via AMESA clinic (another partner) for prevention and healing. We sent a petition to the WHO to accept the PC remedy as a medicine to heal people who are victims of Ebola. We want to assist but we have no financial means. Please, see how you will supply for Congo at Isiro in Oriental and Equator Provinces. My team and I are ready. Pray that God will protect Congolese from Ebola.”
In Jesus Christ our Lord,
Pastor John
[Note: We sent Ps John money today to aid in the Ebola cause for God’s children in the Congo.]
“Neighboring Uganda saw a similar outbreak the summer of 2013 when 24 people were infected and 17 died from EHF. WHO announced the end of that outbreak on October 4, 2013. Despite the shared border and back-to-back outbreaks, WHO says no connection exists between the strain that affected Uganda, known as Ebola Sudan, and the subtype now circulating in Congo, Ebola Bundibugyo.
“WHO has yet to announce trade or travel restrictions to either country. Regardless, recent outbreaks caused the Saudi Arabian Government to announce early last month that Muslims from Congo and Uganda are banned from making the pilgrimage to Mecca this year. This is the fifth known outbreak of Ebola in Congo and the first time the Bundibugyo strain has been reported in the country. “The Congo virus is a separate strain from the one currently rampaging through West Africa, where the disease has claimed over 3,338 lives in the past nine months. WHO announced Friday that there have been 52 cases and 25 deaths of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever (EHF) reported so far in the Orientale Province of the Congo – up from 10 to 15 reported last August. 35 cases were confirmed in the lab.
“Congolese Health Ministry works with organizations to track down all probable and confirmed cases; and increase prevention and control measures in health-care settings, particularly in Isiro and neighboring areas. The Public Health Agency of Canada set up a field lab in Isiro through Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network. Schools and churches in Isiro, Rungu and Ngosaku are distributing information on how to prevent EHF.
Dear All at Bush Telegraph Mission,
“Our partner, L2R-caregivers, are teaching people about Ebola prevention. We ask your Prayer Partners and Bush Telegraph to pray for Congo for the grace from God: “Oh God, the Almighty, save Congolese from Ebola.”
“Since September 9 there were 31 new cases reported in Congo bringing the total to 62. All infections are confined to 4 villages in one county. They’re linked to one case reported to WHO (World Health Organization) on August 26…. Since September 28, 70 cases of Ebola have been reported. In total, 42 deaths have been reported including 7 health workers. Thus, Ebola in Congo has doubled the past week. Patients are treated in temporary isolation units with a mobile lab. Ebola survivors give blood to treat new victims. It’s spreading in the Congo.
* International Rescue Committee warns that Ebola cases are doubling every three weeks. If nothing changes, they predict a global crisis in four weeks. Organizations have redoubled efforts in "hot spots" to educate, train, provide basic sanitation supplies and set up Ebola clinics.
* The side effects of the massive Ebola outbreak in West Africa, besides physical health, is the high cost of living, i.e. gas and food. The belief that Ebola is NOT airborne is false. Also sweat from a victim’s clothes or body is contagious, i.e., even if you sit in a car they rode in; or use their towel, etc.
* West Africa: The latest report from WHO [World Health Organization] says as of nine days ago, 7,178 people, mainly in West Africa, have been infected by the Ebola virus. 3,338 of them have died.
