RWANDA, KIGALI. Pastor Celestine’s Team taught on an important topic - worship.
Dear Friends of Bush Telegraph,
“Our key Bible verse was from Psalm 150; “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!” Last month we had great time with choirs and worshipers from 5 local Churches in Kigali. We discussed ‘How and Where to praise God.’ At the end of the Seminar we met in a Community Church to minister through songs and reading the Word of God. All Choirs met in the same Church, one singing after praise to God. Believers attending our ministry were blessed, shouting and crying out to our Great God. We chose this subject because choir members did not understand the meaning of worship…. The questions were about praising Him: 1) Why? 2) Where? 3) With what?
“These three were confusing to choir members, especially WITH WHAT? Many African churches can't afford to buy a sound system, piano, guitar, key board, etc... They use traditional drums in worship and feel ashamed because they are not using modern expensive instruments. With the help of Psalm 150 we taught you can use any instrument in your community to praise God. He’s always happy to hear all sounds equally, both traditional and modern: ‘lute and harp! Praise Him with tambourine…’ or dance like Africans do.
“We explained WHY we should praise Him: some reasons are common while others are personal. God has done great things for us but also He has done good things to answer individual prayers. The Psalmist says, ‘Praise him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness’.
“We discussed WHERE to praise Him. The Psalmist is saying, ‘Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens’. But also the Psalmist is saying we can praise the Lord when we are walking, working, in prison, in poverty, when we are sick, wherever we are. The choir presented great songs for believers. This teaching was much appreciated.”
Praising God, Pastor Celestin
KENYA, KAKAMEGA. Pastor Bernard’s orphans love their new blankets and mattresses.
Dear Bush Friends & Mama,
“We bought 40 mattress and 30 blankets for our 55 orphans. We are very grateful for the support from BTM and all the prayer partners. Here are the receipts for their purchase and also August and September support. We trust God for sheets and construction of the well cover. God bless you as you pray with us.”
Pastor Bernard,

RWANDA. A beautiful testimony of God’s love from Pastor Celestin.
Dear Bush Team & Mama,
“A 60-yr old man named Yunusi Seth survived the Genocide against Tutsi at a village called Muhanga. He was married but his wife and all 9 of his children were killed. He was left depressed and traumatized. During our counseling period at the Genocide Commemoration April-July of this year, we met him at a difficult time. He was a Roman Catholic but after the Genocide he never attended any church again. His question was, ‘WHERE WAS GOD AS HIS WIFE AND 9 CHILDREN WERE KILLED?’ This was a big question. Our answer was clear and simple. No matter how many were killed in his family, Job in the Bible overcame all temptation. We told him the story of Job and that God wanted Yunusi to go to heaven. Instantly he requested us to pray for him. We did. He assured us he was going to church from then on. Today he is a very strong … believer.”

“There is no PEACE saith my God, for the wicked.” Isaiah 57:21. Harold, my 82-yr old missionary friend at Mayfield Guest House, gave me this verse. So appropriate. After I left Goma, Congo, God and I had a one day private ‘retreat’ to process all I had experienced.
I wept for the pain, suffering, hopelessness, trauma and death I saw all around me.
I wept for victims, their families and the injured left behind after a recent massacre.
I wept for flood victims who lost homes and loved ones.
I wept for 200 severely malnourished orphans; and the mission clinic that refused treatment for a boy because the Congolese volunteer bringing him had no money.
I wept for the church next door who refused to help a malnourished child. Why? “Our church is under construction – when we finish building then we will help.” It’s obvious the church has been ‘under construction’ for years. By then the child will be dead.
I wept for orphans with sad eyes as I handed out new clothes & cookies.
I wept for militant government soldiers we met along the road who randomly kill innocent civilians without conscience or accountability.
I wept for missionaries who fear to enter Congo because it’s ‘insecure’ – “... and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Romans 10:14-15
I wept for my wonderful CAAP Team and Mama Emmaculate’s family, who sacrificed so much to host me and worked so hard to survive.
I wept selfish tears on the 30-hr bus trip to Nairobi, Kenya, as ankles swelled; body stiffened; legs went to sleep - but I didn’t. Even counted sheep, goats and cows.
It’s comforting to know that Jesus also wept (John 11:35). Now I’ve left these burdens at the cross knowing that Christ will have the final Victory! We press on – souls are waiting. Today I’m in Nairobi, Kenya, preparing supplies and ministry for South Sudan; catching up on mission business; and most importantly praying for God’s supreme wisdom, leading and guidance in the days ahead.
82-yr old Harold is right. “Everyone has a ministry of Reconciliation according to II Corinthians 5:18, ‘All this is from God, who Reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of Reconciliation…’ God gave us the tools, He has called us ALL.” Harold concluded, “I can’t run any more on the ‘outside’, but I can still ‘run for God’ on the inside.” Way to go Harold! And thank you dear friends for your love, support and encouraging prayers as we bring Love, Hope and Reconciliation to Africa.
UGANDA, KAMPALA. Mama Monicah has a vision for a new business!
Dear Bush Mission & Mama,
“This is how we spent the support you sent to us and that Pastor David gave to us: House rent; Water; Electricity; Posho (corn meal); Beans; Charcoal; First Aid Treatment 150,000; and Needs for Children.
“God gave me a vision to start a small business - to pack and supply porridge flour for children. Before I started this I found it was difficult to pay school fees. Next year we will have 6 children in secondary and fees are about 300,000 shillings ($79) each. My friend introduced me to this business…. With 100,000 shillings ($26) I started in a small way but God has given me favor and many love our porridge recipe….
“I do the packing at home, however I lack tools to speed up the work. I haven't registered the business so I can’t supply big shops and supermarkets…. God will expand this business and supply all needs. I only need 1,000,000 shillings ($264) to register; buy machines needed; and boost the business…. God can make a way for Salvaco Porridge Company. We love you … and always pray for you.”

SOUTH SUDAN, ANGAIM VILLAGE. Letter from Pastor Sunlight.
Dear Bush Family & Mama,
“Thank you, we received the money for the children’s school fees at Kiryandongo Refugee Camp in Uganda. Susan, my wife, is now out of the hospital following treatment for psychiatric problems. She now lives at the same camp and is the only person with the right documents to collect money from Western Union. The school boys will fill in the form for her. Pastor Adda will send the receipt later for school fees.
“Today one of the women who was sick and under our support has died. Saturday we had a meeting about improving the school and making the community responsible. They now take it seriously and are committed to improve all things in Angaim Village. Thank you for praying and supporting us.”
Thanks, Pastor Sunlight

"Ministering to Yunusi who survived the Genocide - his family did not."
[Letter #2] Dear Bush Family,
“It’s my joy to serve our community again. It’s never easy but with God’s help we shall do greater things than this. I am very glad at the people’s willingness to serve. The teachers are committed …. Can BTM help the teachers with their salaries? It’s been two months and yet they still teach. The 9 teachers have many needs such as soap, salt, and medicine for their families…. Pray for Peter, Valentino, Victor O., Jean , Daniel Ohia, Daniel Oting, Emmanuel, Oswaha and Ben. We now have 257 students. 7th and 8th grade students joined a school in Torit due to conditions such as war, hunger and insecurity.
“We lost Chief David's father. We are at the funeral giving encouragement. The rain has destroyed many houses. People affected are women, elderly, children and orphans. The storm was so destructive. It had not rained for two months. Our warm greetings to … the BTM Team….”
Many blessings, Pastor Sunlight

PAKISTAN. Asia Bibi is free. Praise God!
“The Pakistani Supreme Court has just ordered the immediate release of Asia Bibi, the Christian woman who has spent over eight years on death row in Pakistan. Asia was arrested and imprisoned in June 2009 and convicted of blasphemy charges and sentenced to death in November 2010. After nine years of ongoing prayer, the 58-year-old mother of five has been freed. Open Doors is calling for global prayer for Asia and her family and the church in Pakistan. Please join us in praising God for Asia’s miraculous release and praying with believers. Share this good news and beautiful answer to prayer. ‘Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.’ Psalm 118:39.”

BUSH TELEGRAPH MISSION
REACHING THE UNREACHED. 2.5 billion of the world’s 7.4 billion people are ‘unreached.’
Dear Christ-followers,
“2.5 billion have no access to a church, no access to a Bible, no access to a Christian. In Matthew 28, Jesus tells His followers to ‘go and make disciples of all nations’ – aka the Great Commission. However, reaching billions of people for Christ can’t be done by a single denomination or organization. Therein lays the challenge. What is YOUR role in the Great Commission? It isn’t just for ministries or Christian leaders. It’s for individual believers, too. YOU can make a difference in the destiny of souls who are unreached with the love of Christ.”
