SOUTH SUDAN

Letter from James Keah of UNIDO, whom we’ve not heard from in a year due to war.

Dear  Mama,

“We believe and trust that you and Bush Telegraph are well…. It has been long without hearing from each of us. The situation in South Sudan is still hostile and God has cursed South Sudan with bad leadership which kills innocent citizens: women are forced and raped every day. Children and women are killed by their own sons. It is a sad moment, however, it will come to an end soon we pray. John Kong is in the bush at Adok with over 70,000 mothers with no food but with enough river water. Please pray for Peace in South Sudan.”

Letter from Miss Abby. A Prayer Partner in Utah sent us a donation in Abby’s name.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. P,

“Thank you so much for sending Bush Telegraph a donation in my name…. That is so cool…. I have been thinking about going to Africa as a missionary, but I’m not positive that’s where God is calling me. I would love to work with orphans but we’ll wait and see what God’s will is. I miss y’all and hope to go back to [town] soon!”

Letter from Mama Josephine.

Dear Mama & Bush Mission,

“Uganda schools are on holiday. One child, Zuwena, was hit by a motorbike…. Her hand was broken and head injured…. She was admitted to hospital…. I informed Pastor Henry and we went to the hospital to pray for her….

“Thank you for paying Fatuma’s college fees…. Bulasio escorted her to school and just arrived back home. He took her to … the University of Kyambogo … which offers the courses she is interested in – social services. Attached are the receipts. They travelled well. Thank you for sending the transport and money for shopping for Fatuma…. The challenge was that they did not know the way but God guided … them.

“They shopped in Kampala where prices are cheaper…. Pray as we work to get Wilkister in an affordable university. Pastor Henry … advised them to work hard and always trust God…. He sent you a photo of his new motorbike. We thank God for his spiritual support for us.”

Letter from Pastor Delphin, also busy identifying vulnerable people in Masisi the Containers will help.

Dear Bush Mission & Mama,

“Greetings in Jesus’ Name…. We are excited … to know Mama is soon coming to Africa…. Thank you … for the … determination [to send] two Containers … to Congo….  We pray everything goes well. I sent the Women At Risk Report … and wish to inform you that I am traveling … to Masisi to identify vulnerable people in Refugee Camps and villages. It … will end soon. The Goma team is working hard….  I sent two forms: one for Identification and another for Distribution. If there is any change … please inform us.

“There is great vulnerability in Refugee Camps in the Masisi District. Some … have been in camps up to 10 years because of war. Even last month there was war between families causing many to become disabled, orphaned children and widowed. Life is so difficult. I will send photos and details when I return. We need prayer from our USA brothers and sisters for the Containers’ journey and the Identification process.”

In Him, Pastor Delphin

Report

  \
Dear Friends of the Persecuted Church

Monday. 4:40 AM. I’d been up all night packing. Just then Mr. Chard, my ride to the airport, rang the bell. “I’m here … ready to load the truck.” I quickly pulled on my socks and tennis shoes, staring down in horror at the sight of my feet. “Lord … the bottoms are blacker than the Ace of spades! No time to wash….”

Africa was calling.  I’d been racing around barefoot for two days, packing. I’d started weeks before but due to the 2nd Congo Container Project, got far behind.

“Lord … guess I’ll carry my dirty feet to Africa ... oh, Mother would turn in her grave!”

On the plane, my thoughts returned to dirty FEET – and missionary wives in Africa in rural areas who complain, “We scrub and scrub … can’t get our FEET clean – especially between toes.”

The FEET that make me cry the most are those of refuge children – bruised and bleeding – because they have no shoes. Pastor Celestin of Rwanda writes about them...read this special report at http://www.bushtelegraphafrica.com/rwanda-sept-2015.html .

I meditated, “Lord … what about your Son? He walked from village to village, dust and dirt clinging to his feet, spreading Good News. Maybe dirty FEET aren’t a serious problem after all?”

When I reached Nairobi, I looked up ‘FEET’ in the Bible. Many choices but my top 3 are:

1)     “ … how welcome are the FEET of those who announce the Gospel of good things.”

[Romans 10:15]. “Lord … it doesn’t say CLEAN or DIRTY … I feel better already.”

2)    Ephesians 6:15 talks about the Armor of God“ … and your FEET sandaled with the readiness

of the Gospel of Peace.” Beautiful picture, huh?

3)    My favorite, John 12:3, “… Mary took a pound of fragrant oil – pure and expensive nard –

anointed Jesus’ FEET, and wiped His FEET with her hair….” Imagine the fragrance!
